There are many technologies in remote learning. We’re here to help! This page introduces you to the main 9–12 digital learning platforms. These platforms are used across many grades and subject areas. We’ve also included information about other important technologies that students may use in remote learning.

Clever

Clever is an online tool that connects digital learning in a single place. When you and your child log in to Clever, you can access all their digital learning accounts there. In other words, no need to log in separately to different accounts! You can find a video introduction to Clever on Winnisquam's YouTube Channel.

Google Classroom

Google Classroom is an online learning platform where your child's teacher organizes their assignments. It connects to other Google tools like Google Meet, Google Docs, and Google Calendar. Here’s a Google Classroom Cheatsheet for students, and you can view a video about Google Classroom for parents on YouTube. Login to your WRSD Google account, and select Google Classroom from the Google app launcher on the upper right. You can also log in with Clever.

Google Meet

Google Meet is a video conferencing app that allows teachers and students to conduct face to face classroom meetings. Your child will access their classroom meetings with a unique Google Meet link. Here is a Guardian’s Guide to Google Meet. Login to your WRSD Google account, and select Google Meet from the Google app launcher on the upper right. You can also log in with Clever.

PowerSchool

Your teacher will update PowerSchool to provide information about your child's learning progress. You can check the platform to see if your child is missing any assignments and where they may need more help with learning. Zoom

Zoom is a video conferencing app that allows teachers and students to conduct face to face classroom meetings. Your child will access their classroom meetings with a unique Zoom link. To join a session, click on the link provided by the teacher. To access the site, go to https://zoom.us/ and login with your WRSD Google account.

Google Drive and Docs

Google Drive allows students to create, edit, and share documents in a digital format. Students will complete many of their assignments in Google Docs. Teachers and students can both view Google Docs and share comments directly in the documents. Login to your WRSD Google account, and select Google Drive from the Google app launcher on the upper right. You can also log in with Clever.

Edgenuity

Edgenuity provides many online courses for students. Students can learn the material at their own pace. This allows them to spent more time where they need more help. They can also move more quickly where they have already mastered learning. Students can access Edgenuity courses through Clever.

Screencast- ify

ScreenCastify is a free screen recorder for Google Chrome browser. Teachers and students can record, edit and share videos in seconds. Videos auto-save to your Google Drive and are easily shared. You can use these steps on the Screencastify site to learn how to record a video. To use Screencastify, log into your WRSD Google account and select the Chrome app.

Pear Deck

Pear Deck makes slide presentations interactive. Teachers embed different types of questions for students to answer as they learn. Teachers will share a unique link or access code for each Pear Deck presentation. To join a session, click the link and sign in with your WRSD email.

Edpuzzle

Edpuzzle makes educational videos interactive. Teachers include different types of questions for students to answer as they watch and learn. Students can get immediate feedback based on their answers. To join a session, click the link and sign in with your WRSD email.

Padlet

Padlet is a digital space where students can collaborate. Students can contribute to Padlets by typing text, recording audio and video, or sharing links. Each Padlet has a unique link that teachers will share with students. To access Padlet, click the link below and log in using your WRSD Google account.

Flipgrid

Flipgrid is a platform that allows teachers to create "grids" for video discussions. Teachers share questions as topics in the grid. Students respond by recording a video with their responses. Students can post video responses to other students’ videos as well. Use the link here, and long in using your WRSD Google account.

Jamboard

Jamboards are interactive spaces that work like digital whiteboards. Students can write text, add pictures, and more. They can work together on the same Jamboard. Teachers will share unique links for each Jamboard. Students can access Jamboards once they log in to their WRSD Google account.
